“Looking inward, to see inwardly“

I look at the world with closed eyes.
I’m scared of the view in the mirror,
because I’m afraid of meeting myself in it.
I’m scared to come across myself,
as I fear the touch of the sight.
Only when I’m ready to open my heart
and to look upon life through it,
I can touch my deepest essence
and thus the world as a mirror of myself.
